Save Early for Disaster Costs

Emergencies always seem to occur at the most inopportune time. A medical bill, vehicle maintenance, or home emergency can throw someone for a loop.
Aside from everyday type emergencies, community emergencies can occur. These may include flooding, earthquake damage, hurricane, or wildfire. In the event of emergencies, do you have a plan?
The first week of National Preparedness Month is focused on saving early for disasters. The #1 way to save for emergencies is to have an Emergency Fund. Saving isn't easy in this day and age. But once you realize how much you can save, that can act as a buffer for when an emergency does occur.
Saving money means you have to be organized. Another way to be organized is to have all paper work in order. Insurance policies, identification (Social, Birth Certificate, Passport), and Pet documents will need to be gathered as well as financial documentation and medical documents.
It may seem like a burden, but the bigger burden is when an emergency comes and you're unprepared. Stay prepared and save early for disaster costs.
