Get Ready to ShakeOut!
10/10/2019 (Permalink)
In 2018, 10 million people in California participated in the Great ShakeOut. The Great ShakeOut is the California's largest Earthquake Drill. This year it will be taking place October 17th, 2019.
Why Participate?
California, more than any other state, has the highest Earthquake risk. It can strike when you are at home, school, work, or vacation. The ShakeOut has also been organized to encourage you to examine your emergency preparedness plans and supplies, and to secure your space so no one gets injured or anything gets damaged.
How to Participate:
To react properly means practicing. Gather your family, co-workers, or school and Drop, Cover, and Hold On. That is what the ShakeOut is all about. Practicing this, will help you respond when a real Earthquake strikes.
